11.0  CHRISTMAS MESSAGE 2018-  The Power of Giving

Christmas season is characterized by generous giving. How much of the giving power do you have? The wisdom of giving cannot be over-emphasized.  How disposed you are to giving determines your level of prosperity. A giving person will always enjoy a prosperous life. This Christmas massage gives the relationship between giving and a prosperous life.

“One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will he himself be refreshed.” Proverbs 11v24-25 NIV

Christmas is a season to give and refresh others. Develop yourself into a giving person prosper. Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your lap. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured to you again – Luke 6:38 NIV. It pays to believe the word of God as written in the bible. God is a promise keeper.

In Zimbabwe, as we face a lot of shortages, watch and pray that you are not tempted by the world system. The world system says hold back as much as you can but, God says give as much as you can if you want to prosper. This is most common in the area of finances. But I am happy to point out now that the world is learning to adopt God’s own principles for a prosperous life. All round prosperity can never be complete without giving. The more you give the more you receive. What you make to Certainly what you sow, you will reap. What can you give this Christmas and beyond? You can give love, your time and energy, money, your knowledge and skill, hospitality, your possessions, etc. So, one can you have nothing to give. Empower yourself by giving to others.

The power of giving never leaves the giver empty. The giver is the first beneficiary in the equation.. The benefits are enormous and encompass the spirit, soul and the body of the individual, which results in prosperous life.  For example, you have joy when you share whatever you have with another. When you put a smile on someone’s face, you inevitably do so also on your face.It has been proven that if you are depressed and you go and help another depressed person, your spirit gets lifted too. Also, when you share a useful knowledge or skill, you tend to learn more. Furthermore, when you help anyone in need, God sends help to you when you are in needtoo. It is more blessed to give than to receive. You don’t wait to receive first before you give. No! You have to initiate it first. A farmer does not receive any harvest before he plants his seeds. One thing is certain; your harvest will be more than your seeds.

Consider our father, the God almighty, He gave His only son Jesus and He reaped and is still reaping multitude of saints. Also, mother Theresa gave love and reaped among other things joy, honor and fame. You may want to look at Bill Gates; he gave his time and knowledge and reaped a lot, financial prosperity inclusive. The power of giving is amazing! There are many others in the world that you can read about.

Furthermore, a mother offered our house to many people for different reasons and when we, her children, needed accommodation, many people were eager to offer their houses to the children. In addition, I derive joy and fulfillment sharing my knowledge in workshops, seminars and soon shall be writing articles. When someone is blessed by them, I get blessed too.

A prosperous life is impossible without the power of giving. You don’t have to go far to give what you have. That person near you needs it. Receive the giving grace today. Make a difference in someone’s life this Christmas by giving generously.+IgnatiosMakumbe

12.0                            PRAYER OF THE MONTH

Lord God, we desperately need your wisdom.

You have given us a great country Zimbabwe,

and our church founded on principles and truths from Your Word.

We need men and women who will honour You, trust You,

and lead us once again back to You.

We pray for servant leaders who love the things.

You love and who care more about others than themselves.

Give us leaders with discerning hearts, bold faith in you,

and wise minds that model Your character.

Teach our leaders and us—not just what is good, but what is best.

Guide our leaders in the way our country should go.

Give them purity in their intentions, and godliness in their convictions.

Energize their spirits and bodies physically and spiritually,

and keep them emotionally secure in the knowledge of who You are—

and whose they are. Help them to be bighearted and sincere, energetic in goodness, and courteous in their manners.

Raise up leaders who can ease confusion, expose illusion, and heal delusion.

You alone hold the power to turn the hearts of leaders,

but You listen and use our prayers to move them into right action.

Help us to be faithful to care and to pursue Your heart in prayer.

Amen.
